Works from 2021 - 2022
Thank you for taking some time to look at my work!
I'm Jenson Dantes, originally from Colorado, now attending SCAD in Savannah, GA.
Starting as early as grade 5, I knew I had a deep interest for both art and mathematics. I had always been fascinated and influenced by the perspective drawing skills of my Lolo, the architecture of figures like Zaha Hadid and Wright, and the visual arts as a whole. I knew I wanted to pursue these subjects in some capacity, exploring the idea of studying Architecture through middle and high school. Yet, it wasn't until I had graduated high school that I came across a software called Blender.
Prior to using Blender, I had experience using more STEM-oriented software like Autocad Inventor, Solidworks, and Sketchup. So, almost instantly, I fell in love with Blender. I would stay awake until the sun came up eagerly scrolling through Blender forums, tutorials, and other 3D artist's work. It was like a new door opened for me, with limitless project ideas and skillsets to tackle.
Despite Architecture being my intended field of study for most of my life, my decision to major in the field at SCAD was inevitably short-lived. In just the first couple weeks of classes, I remember watching a fellow classmate showcase their work for a VFX class, where they had built a cinematic sci-fi environment in 3D. I had very little knowledge of VFX in general, but needless to say, my major was changed within the next quarter.
Currently, my fields of interest are FX, Lighting/Look Development, VEX for Houdini, and environment art. I am expected to graduate in May of 2026 with a BFA in Visual Effects and a minor in Technical Direction. I look forward to what the future holds!
